Local Guide

New York City

The apartment is on the 18th floor at Columbus Circle — one of Manhattan’s best locations for experiencing the city. Central Park is across the street, Lincoln Center is a five-minute walk, and multiple subway lines connect you to every corner of New York.

Central Park

You’re steps from the park’s southwest entrance. The loop road is ideal for morning runs or bike rides (Citi Bike station on every block). Walk north along the west side to find the Boathouse, Bethesda Fountain, and the Great Lawn.

  • Wollman Rink Ice skating with a skyline backdrop (winter).
  • Sheep Meadow Bring a blanket, grab takeout, and watch the city go by (summer).

Dining

  • Twin Tails Right downstairs in the Shops at Columbus Circle. Lively Thai & Vietnamese from the team behind Bad Roman — our go-to for a convenient, high-quality meal without leaving the building.
  • Quality Meats A short walk on West 58th. Elevated steakhouse with inventive sides and a great bar scene. Reserve ahead.
  • Per Se Thomas Keller’s tasting-menu restaurant in the Time Warner Center. One of the best meals in America if you can get a reservation.
  • Dizzy’s Club Jazz at Lincoln Center. Nightly live jazz with Central Park views through floor-to-ceiling windows. The late sets are more intimate.

Culture & Entertainment

  • Lincoln Center Five-minute walk. Metropolitan Opera, NYC Ballet, New York Philharmonic, and Juilliard performances. Check the calendar before your trip — something is always on.
  • Broadway Times Square theaters are a 10-minute walk south. Book in advance for popular shows, or try TKTS same-day discount booth.
  • Museums The Met (20 min walk through the park), MoMA (10 min south), American Museum of Natural History (15 min north on CPW).

Neighborhood

  • The Shops at Columbus Circle Whole Foods in the basement (great for stocking the kitchen), plus restaurants and retail across multiple floors.
  • Upper West Side Walk north on Columbus or Amsterdam Ave for neighborhood restaurants, cafes, and a more local-feeling NYC experience.
  • The High Line A 15-minute walk south (or quick subway). Elevated park built on a former rail line, running from the Meatpacking District through Chelsea. Great architecture, art installations, and city views. Connects to Hudson Yards.
  • Hudson Yards The Vessel, The Edge observation deck (100 stories up), and high-end shopping and dining. Easily combined with a High Line walk.
  • Riverside Park If Central Park feels crowded, walk west to Riverside. Quieter paths along the Hudson, great for sunset.

Getting Around

You don’t need a car. The 59th St–Columbus Circle station (A, B, C, D, 1 lines) is a 2-minute walk. Citi Bikes are everywhere. Uber/Lyft for outer boroughs or late nights.

Important for NYC Stays

The building’s HOA requires board approval for all guests (30-night minimum). This takes time — book at least 15 days in advance. Full details on the property page.
